8 years time:

2(x + 10) = 3x

2x + 20 = 3x

20 = x

James = 20 Years old This is in 8 years time

Now in the present

James = 20 - 8
James = 12 Years old

Joe = 12 + 10
Joe = 22 Years old

Joe in 8 years = 22 + 8 * 2
Joe = 30 * 2
Joe = 60 This is in 8 years time should equal to 3 times James's age

James 12 + 8 = 20 * 3 = 60

So it is correct
