Can someone explain to me how to compress a 2074kb power point file below 1000kb's? I have to submit this file with another one in an hour from now. Using winrar doesn't bring it down much and right now I'm trying to trime down some of my slides.
You could compress it to zip format, which may or may not work for the cutoff. If they are adamant about ensuring you have a small powerpoint, than you have to trim the actual PP. Get rid of extra colors and fonts and slides. If they just want the submission process to be smoother, than compress it using any number of programs (I'm on a Mac and use StuffIt (free) to convert it to a .zip file.
Alright, well 1000kbs is the limit that the email will take of attached files. I have another file thats about 350kb, so I guess I'ma have to get rid of some of the color and some other things and keep trying.
You can flatten the image in PPT http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/reduce-the-size-of-your-powerpoint-files-HA001116882.aspx
i saw while i was researching but i'm using 2007 and i don't see the compress option from format picture.
Gmail should take files up to 25mb. Alternatively, you can save your thing as a .ppt. Then put it in a folder. Then right click folder and (at least on Mac) you can do compress and choose the program you want to compress it with. This stuffs it into a much smaller package. Unfortunately, I can't help you with how to do this on windows, but I know it is easy and possible, as that is what all my peers do for their CS assignments. I'd try googling "how to compress files"
Is converting to a .pdf not an option?
