PLEASE HELP! Test tomorrow and a bit confused. Can someone explain kinetic friction? PLEASE!

OpenStudy (espex):

Kinetic friction is the "drag" you feel as you pull or push an object along a surface. Static friction is the force that keeps the object at rest. As you slowly push against an object at rest you are encountering static friction, the instant the object starts to move you have overcome static and are now encountering kinetic friction.
