-2(v-7)-6v=8(4-v)-3

OpenStudy (turingtest):

why don't you try yourself and show me your work as you go I'll give you the first step: distribute to get rid of parentheses

OpenStudy (lilg132):

-2 * v = -2v -2 * -7 = ? (remember - * - gives you a positive) next bracket 8 * 4 = ? 8 * - v = ? that is the brackets expanded now just rearrange and add subtract or whatever it says you need to do and solve :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2v+14-6v=32-8v-3 is that correct for the first step?

OpenStudy (lilg132):

great

OpenStudy (turingtest):

any idea what comes next?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Hint: combine like terms i.e 5x+7x=12x That is what combining like terms looks like; do the same to your equation above.
