If you're giving someone a list of "do's and don'ts," what is the correct punctuation of "do" and "don't"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since do's and don'ts is a colloquialism itself, it doesn't really have a correct punctuation. I'd guess "do's and don'ts" but that obviously looks weird. You really should only be using a phrase like that in a paper if you are quoting it, so just do it as it appears in the source text

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

You could use "do's" and "do-not's"
