Has anyone read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, do you still remember anything from the book about Francie being resourceful?
The book is by and large about tenacity. Francie is determined to be educated and escape poverty. She displays resourcefulness by taking on all these new jobs, summer classes, etc, to do what she has to do to get to college. Often, she encounters pitfalls, like her mother using the money for the boy's education instead of hers, but she finds a way around it through her resourcefulness
ohhhh!! Do you think being resourceful is the same as being determined?
Well, not exactly. Resourceful implies being savvy, creative, and finding opportunities. Determined means having a high willpower and not giving up. You can be determined, but not resourceful, for example, if you want to go to college, but fail to take advantage of opportunities.
