OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

How do you find area for triangles that are together?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

like?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

break them into two.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to find the area of one triangle and then the other and then add the two areas together

OpenStudy (turingtest):

actually if the triangles are congruent it is just A=bh because ewach triangle individually is A=bh/2

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

ok so if i broke ABC apart would the H still be 20?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

so each triangle is B = 20 and H = 20

OpenStudy (turingtest):

These two are congruent so adding the extra triangle makes this a rhombus. Like I said 2(bh/2)=bh=A, just like a rectangle.
