Can someone explain to me Partial Sums of Arithmetic Series? PLease I really need help

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

The sum of an arithmetic series is usually expressed as sum from 1 to 'n'. A partial sum is just this expression evaluated for some value of 'n', say 10 or 23, or 50, etc.

Here is a page of awesome little java apps you can run from your computer: http://www.math.psu.edu/dlittle/java/calculus/index.html Specifically the one about investigating sequences and series is what might be relevant for you. Hope this helps. :)
