A truck driver made this time-distance graph to show total distance traveled one afternoon. Which explanation matches the graph? A. The driver went 120 miles in 3 hours. After a 1 hour break, the driver drove 60 more miles. B. The driver went 120 miles in 3 hours. After a 1 hour break, the driver drove 240 more miles. C. The driver went 180 miles in 3 hours. After a 1 hour break, the driver drove 60 more miles. D. The driver went 180 miles in 3 hours. After a 1 hour break, the driver drove 240 more miles.
That looks a lot like the rain graph from a minute ago. Are you sure you didn't attach the wrong file?
yup wrong graph
got it
C
the slope increases up till a 180 miles from 0 - 3 hours
then the slope is steady and has not increased in miles by any amount for an hour which suggests he had a break for that hour
after that there was an increase from 180 to 240 240 - 180 = 60 miles
Well, you can see that the graph goes up to 180 miles during the first three hours. Given that, you can rule out A & B. Then, after the 1 hour break, the graph jumps up to the 240 mile mark, but don't be fooled! The driver only moved an additional 60 miles, having gone from 180 to 240. 240-180=60.
