Describe the process of blood clotting.
Body has a natural process to stop bleeding from a small cut in a few minutes. When a small blood vessel is cut, collagen fibres are exposed, which is a sign for the begginig of clotting process. As the plaquettes start to attach to the cut ends, segregate chemical substances that attract even more plaquettes. A platelet cover is formed and extern bleeding is stopped. Blood clotting factors cause that the material filament that blood carries, called fibrins, get together and seal internal part if the wound. Then, the blood vessel heals, and the blood clot dissolve after a few days.
Clotting is three step process 1.Damaged tissue and disintegrated blood platelets liberate "thrombokinas". 2. Thromobokinase act on Prothrombin converting it to Thrombin.this reaction require presence of Ca(2+) ions. 3.Now thrombin act on fibrinogen to form fibrin, which is insoluble. It is main component of clot. Normally blood do not clot in blood capillary due to absence of thrombokinase. Clot appear red due to RBC get caught in fibrin mesh.
to stop the flow of blood from a cut or wound is called blood clotting.it can be prevented by accumulation of platelets.the activated platelets begin adhering to the wall of the blood vessel at the site of bleeding and within a few minutes they form a white clot n bleeding stop.
