sqrt20a^2b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{20a ^{2}b}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplify by factoring

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2a \sqrt{5b}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 5b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

be it is: \[\sqrt{4}a* \sqrt{5}b \] which then give you \[2a \sqrt{5}b\] since we know that the \[\sqrt{4}\] is equal to 2, but the \[\sqrt{5}\] will give us decimals. so we would just leave it as it is...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20 = 4 x 5

hope you understand :)
