What is this "skype" thing I keep hearing on the service? What problem is it supposed to solve?

hero (hero):

I'm pretty sure you already know what skype is

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Well you see Skype is more effective in teaching someone over the internet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here - of course. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Geometry_Hater - That is exactly what I am trying to understand. And, what "integration" are users of Open Study asking for when they keep bringing up Skype?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not looking for "Hero's" point of view. :-)

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Lets say its easier to explain things with your actual voice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah...."voice" is the reason. I would never have thought of that. I actually disagree with it in the sense that many people answering and helping on this forum are from the South Asian region and their accent would be a huge problem for US-based learners. Curious yet why so many people keep bringing it up and why that subject is popular.

hero (hero):

You'd be surprised

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Well i dont blame you not everyone can learn things the same way.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Interesting...!

hero (hero):

It would be better if we were made without mouths and voices. That way, everyone would be forced to write instead of talk. Things would get done much faster that way.

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

That would be an interesting scenario ....

hero (hero):

Besides, some people's voices are just plain annoying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya like mine

hero (hero):

For example, there was this girl that I was interested in and I was talking to her via skype. But her voice was so annoying that I eventually got tired of her talking. I eventually just stopped talking to her. It was really bad. Then I just completely deleted her profile.

OpenStudy (geometry_hater):

Lol Its a Blind date

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya i had the same thing with this guy who had this american accent that grated on my nerves so i just stopped

hero (hero):

American Accent > Canadian Accent And btw, what is a zed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

zee!!!

hero (hero):

No, zee and zed are not the same thing. As far as what I've been told zed means zero or undefined number or something. We refer to zee as a letter, not a number. You canadians need to figure out what to use zed for. It can't be used for both zero and zee.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well zed isnt a word but just an alphabet!!!

hero (hero):

I guess you thought you were telling me something that I didn't know.

hero (hero):

It's going to take you a long time before you're able to do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hero u think u know e/t!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its not good to be such a tuck up!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*stuck up

hero (hero):

lol! I was just about to say you know what tuck is and I don't

hero (hero):

Why do you think I'm stuck up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cuz u always think u r right and e/t u propose is the best

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically you think u r G-d

hero (hero):

that doesn't mean that I'm stuck up, it just means I think I'm G-d.

hero (hero):

Oh wait..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chip on the shoulder. Boss around. Throwing your weight around. Hmmmm.....

OpenStudy (lilg132):

ehemagreeehem

OpenStudy (pokemon23):

lol hero that explains so much in skype with our conversation :0
