can someone explain me newtons third law in detail. with some links or helful sites
Newton's third law states 'To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.' What this means is that, when you \pushe or pull on an object, that object pushes or pulls back. For example, when you press your finger against the tip of a pencil, it creates an indention in your finger. This is because when you apply a force to the tip of the pencil the pencil applies an equal force, but in the opposite direction (against your finger).
Another example is a book lying on a table. The book is applying a force downward onto the table and at the same time, the table is applying a force upward onto the book. If the forces were not equal, then there would be acceleration and in this case the book breaking the table.
I'll give u good example. Sit in a swing with some weight carrying in the hands. Your legs should be above the ground level. Now throw the weight away from you. what will happen? The swing will move in the opposite direction of the weight. That's the reaction force acting on you by the weight when u throw throw the weight. this reaction force and the force on the weight given by you are the equal. This is called Newton's third law. Now assume rockets with this same principle? You will get the point how rockets are moving up..
