Help me to graph this please. During the month of February, the depth, d, of snow in inches at the base of one ski resort could be approximated by adding 7 to twice the number of days, t, since January 31st. Then graph the equation and use the graph to determine the depth of the snow on February 10. x=2y+7 2, y intercept on (0,7) y=10 x=2*10+7 V x= 20+7 x= V x= 27 Answer: x=2y+7
shouldn't this be y = expression in t?
i would have thought it would be \[d=2t+7\] where t is days since jan 31 since feb 10 is ten days later it would be \[d=2\times 10+7=27\] on feb 10
I'm not sure which is why I'm seeking help. I want to understand graphing.
Eithr way, how do I graph this equation?
if you graph \[y=2x+7\] you will get a line with slope 2 and y intercept 7 you can start by plotting point, where you pick the x value and compute to find the y value for example if x = 0 then y = 7 so you have (0,7) on the graph. similarly if x = 1 then y = 9 so you have (1,9) on the graph |dw:1323025260123:dw|
when you plot the points and connect the dots you will get something like this http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D2x%2B7+for++0%3Cx%3C10
Thanks love. I appreciate your help.
