first expand your polynomial using FOIL: (4x-4)(4x-4)=1

So there is a way to do this without getting all fancy with algebra. :) The problem is asking "what number, when squared, equals one? Well, +1 and -1 squared both give you one. So when is 4x - 4 = 1 and when is 4x - 4 = - 1 Solving these should be relatively easy. :) Hope this helps.
