Solve. 3x^2 – 24x = –12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make the equation equal to zero and factor to solve 3(x)^(2)-24(x)-12(x) = 0 3(x^(2) - 8(x) - 4) what times what equals 4 and adds up to -8, I dont really think anything can so you have to use the quadratic equation to solve

OpenStudy (mertsj):

+4

OpenStudy (mertsj):

3x^2 – 24x = –12 How do you get that to equal 0 without adding 12 to both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is dirty 2(2 +(3)^(1/2)) and 2(2 - (3)^(1/2))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry iI made a mistake it should be 3(x^(2) - 8(x) + 4)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Exactly my point.

good job Mertsj durp
