DO WE BELIEVE APPEARANCE OR REALITY IN OUR DAILY LIFE?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which appearance???

I think people, in general, believe appearance over reality most of the time. I've noticed that a lot of people will say "I'll believe it when I see it." So, appearance seems to win out over reality.

It depends on the person, I don't think you can generalize. Just like some people are naturally concerned with objective facts, whereas others care about the subjective interpretations, some people will focus on the appearance and others the reality. For example, you have a supermodel photoshoot, and some people will focus on her amazing appearance and be blown away, others will notice the reality (she was airbrushed, photoshopped to have a narrower waist, there's artificial skin-bronzing created from the light and angle of the camera. With anything, there is a surface layer and a deeper layer, and usually we think of the first as appearance and second as reality. What people focus on varies.
