What does it mean for a number to be the least common multiple of two numbers?? Please help me Please

it means it is 1) a common multiple of the two numbers. for example if the two numbers are 6 and 8, then 48 is a common multiple 2) it is the least one, so for example if it is 6 and 8 then 48 is not the least common multiple because 24 is a common multiple and it is smaller
