I really need help for this question! It's a really simple calculus question and it says: use a graphing calculator to approximate the value(s) of x where the graph of the parabola y=xsquared+3x-1 crosses the x-axis. I am using the TI-nspire graphing calculator but I do not know how to use it for this problem.
well, this isn't a calculus problem. Not sure how to use that calculator but if it helps http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=x%5E2%2B3x-1
ok thank you i will check it out now!
maybe -3.26 and 0.25?
ok, i will try and see if it works. thank u for the help!
yeah, its hard to see on this graph. Your calculator has a trace function that will let you see this point more accurately. Im thinking -3.31 and 0.30 might be a bit closer now that I look closer. good luck :)
thanks :)
