to know which fraction is bigger, u need to either same numerator or denominator. so, how to make them have same denominator: times both of the fraction's numerator and denominator with same number. You won't change the value of the fraction, u just make the ration number look bigger or smaller like 3/5 and 4/7 3/5 change to 21/35 (both times 7) 4/7 change to 20/35(both times 5) hence 3/5 is bigger than 4/7 same denominator, bigger numerator fraction mean greater value If same numerator, but different in denominator, bigger denominator mean smaller value
