a + 18 = -32 how did you solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to get a alone so - 18 to both sides. a=-50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

move the 18 to the right handside changing its sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to get "a" alone u must take away 18.what ever you do to 1 side of the equal sign u must do the the other side. so if you minus 18 from the left side u must minus 18 for the right side making ur anser a=-50.

answer*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK so put the whole thinG TOGETHER

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not sure how else to put it.i just told u what to do lol ... ok u have" a + 18 = -32" first u must get "a" by its self so u must subtract 18 from the left side.whatever u do on 1 side of the equal sign u must do to the other side to keep it even. so u will also subract 18 from the right side. that makes the answer "a=-50" did that help ???
