Find the turning point of y= -2x^2 + 7x + 8

OpenStudy (slaaibak):

set the derivative equal to 0. this will give you the x-value. take that x-value and plug it into the original equation to find the y value of the turning point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can we find it using completing the square ?

OpenStudy (slaaibak):

Yes, that's also another way to do it. y = a(x-b)^2 + d where (b, d) is the turning point
