Physics 16 Online
OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

sin^2x-2sinx=0

OpenStudy (turingtest):

a) this is not physics b)what do you get upon factoring this? we just did these together...

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

i got sinx=0 and sinx=2

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

and radians for sin=0 is pie and2pie

OpenStudy (turingtest):

you phrase our answers strangely, so it is difficult to see whether you have the correct answer... I assume you got to \[\sin^2x-2\sin x=0\to \sin x(\sin x-2)=0\]which as you said means\[\sin x=0\]and \[\sin x=2\] 1) for what values of x is sinx=0 2)for what values of x is sinx=2 ?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

*should be OR sinx=2

OpenStudy (turingtest):

so again... 1) for what values of x is sinx=0 2)for what values of x is sinx=2

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

absaluetly i got that after taht i am confused

OpenStudy (turingtest):

you mean that you don't know for what x we have sinx=0 ?????

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

sin=2

OpenStudy (turingtest):

that's the only problem for you? when does sin x=2 ?????

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

i dont know in unit circle it is not there

OpenStudy (turingtest):

that's because \[\sin x \le1\]so the answer is NEVER! which means we only need to consider when \[\sin x=0\]so x=?

OpenStudy (ksaimouli):

pie and 2pie

OpenStudy (turingtest):

and...?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

don't forget x=0...
