Let h(x)=xg(x), where g(x)=the inverse of f(x). Find h'(5) using the chart x: 2, 3, 5 f(x): 4, 5, 1 f'(x): -1, 2, 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h(x)=x * g(x) Think of it in tables a certain x value gives you a certain f(x) value. 2 gives you 4, 3 gives you 5 etc. x : 2 3 5 f(x): 4 5 1 x : 2 3 5 f'(x): -1 2 3 This table shows that when we plug in a certain x value we get a corresponding inverse function value f'(x). Thus when x = 5, f'(x) = g(x) = 3 (they told us f'(x) = g(x)). h(x) = x times g(x) 5 * 3 = 15 So the answer is h(x) = 15
