Does anyone knows what a metric variable is? what about categorical variables? Im reading the following paragraph: CCA is particularly useful in situations in which multiple output measures such as satisfaction, purchase, or sales volume are available. If the independent variables were only categorical, multivariate analysis of variance could be used. But what if the independent variables are metric? Canonical correlation is the answer Can someone help me to understand what that means? English is not my native language
