If a car is going across a straight road at 200km/h approaching a rail-road crossing at a right angle. with the last car of a train passing the crossing at 100km/h when the car is 1 km away. the car swerves to follow the train and the car keeps heading towards the last car on the train till it catches up. If the train and car maintain their speed how far from the crossing does the car catch up to the train? hint:solve the equation 2x d^2y/dx^2 = square root 1+(dy/dx)^2 assume y=0 and dy/dx =0 when x=1(the x-axis is the car and y-axis is the train .
