what is the formula for solving mode in statistics?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

mode = amount used most often

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the formula is just; count the data points and pick the one that is used the most

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean for the GROUPED data. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw, thanks for answering :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

"grouped" data is a new term on me ....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the one with the highest frequenct is the mode

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha...we found same site...but the formula is not there...:(

OpenStudy (amistre64):

mode isnt formulaic by nature. are you trying to created a freq distribution table first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what if none of the numbers given is repeated? NO MODE?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if no numbers are repeted, its no mode; modeless

OpenStudy (amistre64):

figure out your class widths and such; its easier to do with actual data

OpenStudy (amistre64):

5 classes is regarded as a good minimum

OpenStudy (amistre64):

find the range of the data and divide it by how many classes you wanna create if i recall it right
