Create a unique example of dividing a polynomial by a monomial and provide the simplified form. Explain, in complete sentences, the two ways used to simplify this expression and how you would check your quotient for accuracy.
really, not even a thank you for the other one
it was wrong ?
Maybe you typed it in wrong, but I just typed it into a computer and that's what it said. and if you know the right answer why did you ask?
2x^9y^4 + 4x^6y^3 2x^3y^2 + 4xy 2x^3y^2 + 4y^2 2x^3y^2 + 4y
those were the choices
Type the original problem into wolfram alpha
it's faster and more accurate than asking people here
why?
Rude how?
i agree, you keep telling me to pretty much get off this site...
I'm giving you advice on how to find the answer more quickly and more accurately
If you want to actually learn the material then this is a good place to ask, but if you just want answers then wouldn't it be easier to just type it in a computer program that gives you the answers instantly?
really, cause i've already tried that crap and it's pretty much like ask.com cause it's one simple sear engine . not anything more advanced ..
It's not a search engine, it's a computer algebra system. Did you even try it?
yeah
You get an answer: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=5x+*+7x%5E2+%2F+%283x+-7%29
not any of the right ones
Well I typed a random problem in, you have to type in your actual problem
My point is that it's not a search engine
10x^6 y^3 + 20x^3 y^2 / 5x^3y type that in alpha.. and u tell me if they give u any of the right listed answers i gave u
It did, but I had to do two other things. First you have to use parantheses around the numerator. otherwise it thinks you're just trying to divide the last term. i.e. like this: (10x^6 y^3 + 20x^3 y^2) / 5x^3y And second, if you want to simplify, try putting it all into a function called Simplify[], i.e. like this: Simplify[(10x^6 y^3 + 20x^3 y^2) / 5x^3y] If you do that you get exactly the right answer: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=Simplify%5B%2810x%5E6+y%5E3+%2B+20x%5E3+y%5E2%29+%2F+5x%5E3y+%5D
You have to put parenthesis around the bottom, too: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=Simplify%5B%2810x%5E6+y%5E3+%2B+20x%5E3+y%5E2%29+%2F+%285x%5E3y%29+%5D
ok i gotchaaa :) now can u answer this question i posted. ?
well to create your own problem just think of a random expression using X and Y with a divisor. you can check it for accuracy after you simplify it by setting the two versions equal to each other and making sure that when you multiply everything out the equality still holds.
