Write the quadratic equation whose roots are -6 and 1, and whose leading coefficient is 3 .

OpenStudy (a_clan):

x^2 - (A+B)x + A.B = 0 where A,B are the roots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they give you the roots so (x+6) and (x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+6)(x-1) FOIL it out and you get x^2+5x-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then to get the leading coefficient to 3 just multiply the whole thing by 3 3(x^2+5x-6)
