The quadratic function f is defined by f (x) = 3x2 – 12x + 11. (a) Write f in the form f (x) = 3(x – h)2 – k.

first make the x2 term free from 3 by taking 3 common from the whole equation.. the new equation will be 3(x2-4x+11/4)...take the half of 4 i.e.2 and square it i.e. 4... add and sub 4 from the equation and you will find your reuired form by clubing together x2-4x +4..
