In APA style, when you use direct quote, should I mention the author's title, for example, John Smith (2008), a Harvard university professor, declared,"....." instead of Smith (2008) declared, "....."? I don't see anything like that in an APA sample paper. If I mention the only ones I know for sure for their titles, I wonder it is acceptable?

Mention his name the first time you quote him, so your readers know who he is.
