solve and check x^2-3x+2=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So to set this up, you need to find all values of x such that the function = 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To do this you can split up the polynomial into a multiplication: \[x^2 -3x + 2 = 0 --> (x-2)(x-1) = 0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, because when x = 2 and x = 1 the function is = 0, you can say that x = 2 and x = 1 and that is the answer.

Keep in mind, you have to know how to split up polynomials in order to be able to solve questions like these.
