Can you describe the 3/5 compromise?

most of the south's population was slaves so to make the votes in the south count for more (because the amount of votes per state depends on how many people in it) so slaves were counted as 3/5ths of a person to give the south more votes since slaves took up most of their population and they would have hardly any say in government actions otherwise
