I am writing a feasibility study and referencing prior works.
Within my document I repeat the same quote and my wife thinks
that I should be using "ibid".

I have researched the use of "ibid" on the web and found contradictory info.

I have 2 questions.

1. As the reader goes through the document, should the citation numbering flow sequentially 1,2,3,4,5,.......even though I reuse the same quotation or statement twice?
2. When using the quote the second time -should I renumber it so it flows sequentially as above or should I use the previous # .. i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,2,7,8,9.....
