Curious Why this always shows up while a refresh is happening?
Because of the way our system builds the page. We have a template and then use a lot of dynamic code to populate all the real content in pieces. All in all, it does a lot of good things for us (it makes everything changing in realtime very simple), but on some browsers (such as Internet Explorer) there can be a long delay during this initial load period that causes you to see the original template. We're currently exploring options to reduce that initial load time.
Of course, you're using chrome in your screen shot - so network speed issues are the more likely culprit for you.
I know nothing about creating websites so thank for letting me know.
No problem. Ours isn't exactly the average site though - so it wouldn't surprise me if this is the first time you've seen a site that does it the way we do. :)
I didn't know if I was the only one seeing it.
Haha. No, karatechopper asked us once who the creepy guy named "spraguer" is and why he is always asking the same question. A lot more people noticed it when the site was moving slowly a few days ago. Anyway, we all got a good chuckle around the office. :)
By the way, Shadow said he is going to take a vacation on the busiest week (you know when there is a lot of bugs to fix). So you will have to do all the programming.
lol jk
Pssshhh! Lies! We're going to leave all the bugs for mattfeury.
matt vs matt let me know how that works out
I experience this problem routinely. In fact, I saw the picture of Ashwin Ram so many times and then it disappears. I always wondered - I swear I saw him on the forum, only to see it disappear for good. :-)
