Anyone know any good CAS software?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mathematica

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's very very very powerful, much more powerful than my TI-89 Titanium (which is almost like a very lite pocket MATLAB with CAS)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I can't afford Mathematica 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's just like $200 for the student edition. and wolfram alpha evaluates a lot of mathematica expressions for free

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$200 seems alright.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it for free, it's great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With something like Mathematica I will never have to evaluate another integral in my life.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you just care about integration they have a free web page that does integrals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://integrals.wolfram.com/index.jsp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wolfram - the google of mathematics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe google is the mathematica of web search

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That makes me wonder; I've never used any of the fancier search options in Google search. I've always just typed a bunch of simple keywords related to the stuff I wanted to find; like "Dancing Cat Videos" (without the quotes) to find videos of dancing cats.
