Solve the inequality. |t + 4| > 10 -6 < t < 6 -14 < t < 6 t < -14 or t > 6 t > -14 or t < 6

OpenStudy (across):

Remember that\[|t+4|>10\]is the same as\[-10>t+4>10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey across ;)

OpenStudy (lilg132):

t + 4 > 10 t + 4 > 10 - 4 t > 6 t + 4 < -10 t < - 10 -4 t < -14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the second one?

OpenStudy (across):

Be careful with the direction of the inequalities!

OpenStudy (lilg132):

am i right across?

OpenStudy (across):

Yes, you're right. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t<14 is not one of my answers ....tho

OpenStudy (across):

We already know this\[-14>t>6.\]This is the same thing as\[6<t<-14,\]which is the same thing as\[t<-14,\]\[t>6,\]which is the same thing as\[-14>t,\]\[6<t.\]

o okay i get it:)
