The surface of a closed figure refers to??? Area, Perimeter, Hypotenuse, or None of these???

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

Generally it is the area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really? I thought it would make more sense if it was peimeter? Because it's around the closed figure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Buthen again it says surface of a closed figure so I guess it would be Area. . .

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

surface is not perimeter as far as i know, it is the area.. generally they are called together as surface area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your right I was just thinking wrong but thank you I just scored 96% on my test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a surface is two dimensional - so its an area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldve gotten 100% but I misread a question that said Perimeter not Are =P
