Replace the variables a and b with integers and solve for log a b = x by using the change of base formula. Please show the steps..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Change of base formula is as follows for arbitrary positive real numbers \(a,b,c\).\[\huge \log_a b = \frac{\log_c b}{\log_c a}\]The elegance of this formula is that you can choose \(c\) arbitrarily, so pick a \(c\), and then pick values for \(a\) and \(b\) whose logarithms of base \(c\) are easy to evaluate.
