OpenStudy (anonymous):

can two parents with attached earlobes have a child with unattached earlobes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no becoz attached means reccessive and if it is attached it means dominant gene of unattached ear lobe is absent in both

OpenStudy (preetha):

No they cannot have kids with free, unattached earlobes. Attached earlobes are recessive, which means both parents are homozygous for the recessive gene. (ff). IF Free earlobes are represented as FF (F=dominant Free earlobe), the parents are ff. The offspring can only have ff. Draw the Punnet square to see how this works out. 100% of the offspring will have attached.
