I was going to say something about that, but I wasn't sure. Does EACH card have 2,300 or is the total combined balance 2300? I think the question "What is the dollar amount for each card" needs to be expressed more precisely. Something is wrong with it.

here is what I have 

a+c=2,300

9.8(a)+12.4(c)=2300

98(a)+124(c)=2300

Does it say somewhere that the interest on both cards at the end of one year is the same?
