find the points on the curve y=4x^3 - 6x^2 - 24x + 30 where the tangent is parallel to the x axis!

the tangent is found by differentiating the equation. parallel to the x axis means its slope must be zero. you therefore need to find the tangent by differentiating the equation and then finding which values of x make it zero. once you know the x values, use the original equation to find the corresponding y values.
