OpenStudy (anonymous):
A water lily is floating in a murky pond rooted on the bottom by a stem of unknown length. The lily can be lifted 3 feet over the water and moved 8 feet to the side. What is the depth of the pond? I did 3ft^2 + b^2=8ft^2. and got b= 7.41 Is this right?
