can somebody exlpain me the homologus series of alkenes and the way how i can write down the isomers(e.g. pentane-2 on)?

prop- 3 carbons
but- 4 carbons
pent - 5 carbons

writing isomers:
identify longest carbon chain
number the carbons on the chain
identify the position of the functional group on the carbon
