ok lets do the next part of the question where it says do the discounts in reverse order

which means take off 10% from the price then 20% and then 25%

to work out what 10% is of the price we multiply the 1% by 10

0.12 * 10 = 1.2 (this is 10% of the price $12)

now to get the price after discount we minus the 10% from the price

12 - 1.2 = $10.8 (this is the price after 10% discount)

10.8 / 100 = 0.108 (this is 1%)

0.108 * 20 = 2.16 (this is 20%)

10.8 - 2.16 = 8.64 (this is the price after 20% discount)
