Remember that if I take the cross product of any two vectors then I get a perpendicular vector to the plane that the orginal two vectors form. Can you think of why this would be usefull?

Cross product is useful when assigning weights to different items and finding net scores. You grade depends on 8 things, and each of them has a weight. You get some score in each of the eight things. Your net score is a cross product of the weights and your scores then added up.
