Use scientific notation to multiply the following two numbers. Express the answer using scientific notation; retain all nonzero decimal places. (6.5 · 10^3) · (1.5 · 10^7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the answer I got 9.75 * 10^10 .000975 * 10^22

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

ok...so you already know how to multiply like powers. so this would be 6.5*1.5 * 10^(3+7)

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

that is correct...but why the need to write it in non-scientific form for the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know wasn't sure how it was supposed to look

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first problem is correct
