Let f(x)=5x^7+3x^5-2x^2+7x+1. determine the end behavior of y=f(x)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

as x approaches infinity, f(x) approaches infinity as x approaches negative infinity, f(x) approaches negative infinity

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

basically, as x gets larger and larger in the positive direction, so does f(x) the same applies in the other direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answers start with y approaches infinity as x approaches infitinty... the opposite, would it bethe same answer?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

y is the same as f(x), so the answer is also as x approaches infinity, y approaches infinity as x approaches negative infinity, y approaches negative infinity so it sounds like you have the same answers
