The cartesian product AXB will take exactly one element each from A and B to make an ordered pair. So here since |A|=3, and |B|=3 (cardinality,i.e. number of elements of each set), there will be 3.3=9 ordered pairs, such as (sprinkles, vanilla), {(sprinkles, chocolate), (sprinkles, strawberry), ...(fudge,strawberry) }similar to what Hero has enumerated, except that they don't get packed in the same set, but a set of ordered pairs.
