i just took a look at pset2, i'm not sure if i should think the math through or just apply brute force and get pyhton to churn out all possible quantities of mcnuggets i could buy...

it never hurts to think things out. sometimes, if it doesn't take too much time, it is instructive to write the 'brute-force' solution so you can look at it and figure out a better way. but then again figuring it out beforehand never hurts either. I'd like to see a 'better way' for this solution myself.
go for the no-brains brute force method, as bwCA suggested (I think the brute-force way is actually expected out of people doing ex2). Once you get things working, then maybe consider refactoring your code to be 'smarter' and much more efficient
